Who is Smoke Free Montana?
We are a project of the American Heart Association,
American Cancer Society, American Lung Association of the Northern
Rockies, and Montana Physicians for Prevention.
We are committed to making Montana 100% smoke free and protecting
families and employees from the unnecessary and preventable dangers of
secondhand tobacco smoke.
This web-site was developed to help YOU --- our fellow Montanans and
visitors to this great state know what places are safe to eat, sleep
and visit in the Big Sky Country. You may do so knowing that you and
your family are not being exposed to the toxic chemicals from tobacco
fumes.
The count down ticker on this web page relates to the upcoming date
when all businesses in Montana will be smoke free. In 2005 the Montana
Legislature passed legislation requiring all establishments to be smoke
free by October 1, 2009. Click here(link to the law) to learn more about this legislation.
We want to celebrate and recognize those businesses who are smoke free
now. We believe those businesses deserve our support and recognition.
We hope you will support them also.
